I have been meaning to spend some more time devoted to blogging here and at Libraries and Transliteracy, however, two book deals have kept me pretty tied up. I am happy to announce that Leah White and I will be co-editing a book on Library Innovation for ALA Editions. We are feverishly working on creating a call for contributors, and as soon as we do, I will be sure to post it here. In the mean time:
Libraries recognize the power of story. We review, select and organize hundreds of thousand of stories each year. We are experts on story, whether the story is expressed through art, written on a page, shown on a screen or acted on a stage. However, we are proudest of the ones that are written in and through the experiences of the Library. The Library is where stories from the past and the future unfold in the present through the lives and creativity of our patrons. So may you remember that each and every one of you contribute to the stories of those around you, and may you write a powerful page-turning story through your life that falls somewhere between Fifty Shades of Grey and Tuesdays with Morrie.
